I Am a Strange Loop

Douglas R Hofstadter, 2007

non-fiction
6/10

The overall argument of the book - that we are conscious because we have self-referencing strange loops of concepts in our heads and that parts of ourselves literally exist in others' minds - was not very convincing. The section of prim numbers was also very difficult to follow, and I’m still not sure what link he was trying to make to the rest of the book.

It was worth reading, but I don’t think I will ever recommend it to anyone.
